Art RP System

The World of Frieren’s roleplay system is mostly art-based where players will submit drawings that depict their characters' adventures, battles, or interactions. Submissions can be anything from single illustrations to full comics, with no restrictions on art style or skill level. Each submission yields points which can be used to “level up” characters. Each submission earns points based on the amount specified in the prompt. Quality of submission is considered to some extent - the submission will earn points if an adequate effort was given. To keep things simple, sketches, flat colors, full illustrations with background, etc will all be considered equal unless the prompt explicitly states otherwise.

Magic System

Characters in the world of Frieren possess a rich variety of magics. Each player can craft their own magic, drawing inspiration from the following types: offensive, defensive, support, etc. You can either have your character focus on a single path or combine different forms of magic for a unique spin!

  • Offense spells: Spells cast by mages in battle to attack opponents directly, potentially via modifying their surroundings to become ammunition or by conjuring up attacks with magic.

  • Defense spells: Spells with the purpose of providing defensive properties against other spells or attacks.

  • Support spells: Spells not directly used to attack but have been shown to prepare the caster for or assist the caster during combat, such as through incapacitating opponents, improving the caster's fighting ability/other stats, reshaping the terrain in an advantageous manner, etc.

  • Other spells: Any other magic or spell that doesn't fall under the other existing classifications, typically used outside of combat. This can consist of magic applied towards everyday life, such as spells that change the properties of an object or perform non-combat or trivial actions.

Skill points (SP) can be earned and distributed across 6 skills. Each skill can hold a max of 5 SP. A skill can be assigned 0 SP. Characters start with 6 SP and gain +3 SP per class-up. Skills do not affect the gameplay, but may be used to give other roleplayers a sense of the character’s abilities.

Class System

There are a total of 9 classes broadly categorized as follows:

  • First class: Mages who have undergone and passed the First-Class Mage Exam are granted the title of first-class mage.

  • Fifth to second class: Mages that become certified as fifth-class are considered full-fledged mages. This is the minimum required tier a mage must have before they can take the First-Class Mage Exam.

  • Ninth to sixth-class: Ninth- to sixth-class mages are generally considered in the apprentice stage.

New characters will start as a ninth-class mage. Experience points can be earned through art/writing submissions up until the sixth-class. To advance to the fifth-class, characters must complete a special quest [Fifth-Class Mage Exam]. Similarly, to advance to the first-class, characters must complete a special quest [First-Class Mage Exam].EXP required for each class:

Third-class700 EXP
Fourth-class500 EXP

On average each quest will reward 5 EXP, but characters can earn large amounts of boosted EXP from participating in the Mage Exams and special events.

Spell System

Spells can be obtained through class advancements, quests, events, and more! Newly created characters start with 3 spells. When your character obtains a spell unit, they can either learn a new spell or advance their proficiency in an existing spell to a higher tier.If your character wants to learn a new spell, they must have already learnt the previous tiers of that spell. When your character learns a higher tier of spells, they keep the previous tiers of that spell. For example, if they advance from a basic fireball spell to an intermediate fireball spell, they will still be able to cast fireball as a basic spell.

Rules & FAQ

Note: Failure to follow these rules may result in warnings, removal of submissions, point deductions, or, in severe cases, banning from the community. Rules may be changed at any time without prior notice.

General Rules & Conduct

  • Treat all members of the community with kindness and respect. Discrimination, harassment, hate speech, or bullying of any kind is not tolerated. Everyone should feel welcome and safe in this community.

  • When giving feedback on someone’s artwork or storytelling, keep it constructive and supportive. Focus on helping each other improve in a positive manner. If feedback is not requested, respect the artist’s choice.

  • Avoid sending spam messages, advertisements, or unrelated content to the community channels. Keep discussions relevant to the RPG and respectful of others' time and interests.

Art Submission Guidelines

  • Submissions are meant to reflect genuine effort and creativity. Quick doodles or very rough sketches are welcome for personal sharing, but official quest submissions should show a thoughtful amount of effort in terms of storytelling, character portrayal, or design.

  • Properly tag and blur out explicit content, extreme violence, or other mature themes.

  • If collaborating with another player (e.g., drawing their character), ensure you have their permission and give them proper credit in your submission description. This applies to art trades, collaborations, and role-play interactions.

  • All art submissions must be your original work. AI-generated, traced, or heavily referenced art without proper credit is not allowed. The goal of this RPG is to encourage creativity and artistic growth.

Role-Playing & Storytelling Rules

  • Only role-play with or draw other players' characters if you have their consent. Respect their character’s personality, abilities, and established backstory. Never drastically alter another player's character in your art without discussing it first.

  • Submissions should respect the lore of the Frieren universe. Feel free to be creative, but ensure that your character's abilities, backstory, and actions fit within the world and its magical rules. If you're unsure about something, reach out to a moderator for clarification.

  • While creating your character, avoid giving them overwhelming powers that make them invincible or able to manipulate others without permission. Every character should have flaws, limitations, and room for growth.

Participation & Progression

  • Keep an honest and accurate record of your character’s progress, points, and level-ups. Submitting false information or cheating in any way undermines the spirit of the game and will result in penalties.

  • While you are encouraged to be active and participate in quests, events, and discussions, remember that real life comes first. If you need a break or time off, that's perfectly fine! However, try to communicate any extended absences, especially if you're involved in a collaborative quest.

Community & Moderation

  • The moderators are here to ensure that the RPG runs smoothly and that the community remains positive. If a moderator makes a decision, please respect it. If you have questions or concerns, bring them up privately and respectfully.

  • If you encounter any issues with other players, technical difficulties, or need assistance understanding the game rules or submissions, don't hesitate to reach out to the moderation team. We’re here to help!
